Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James was dropped from Sunday's game for making the mistake of drawing significant blood from the face of Isaiah Stewart against the Detroit Pistons, the NBA said.
The incident happened at 9:18 left in the third quarter, the Lakers trailing 78-66, when the piston center pushed Stuart into the eyeball with his hand while fighting for a rebound in a James Free Throw.
Stuart, bleeding from his eyes, had to be stopped by multiple staff members as he tried to confront James on several occasions.
After an official review, James received a "significant two punishments" assessment, which led to his dismissal for the second time in his 19-year career. Her first ejection came against the Miami Heat in November 2017.
Stuart was also fired after Lakers guard Russell Westbrook was technically fouled for being involved in the scrap.
James finished the night with 10 points and five assists in the Detroit Lakers 121-116 win.
