Jesus strike sinks PSG as Man City win group

Manchester City secured a place in the knockout stages of the Champions League with a 2-1 win over Paris Saint-Germain at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday, with Gabriel Jesus scoring in the 7th minute.

PSGO reached the last 16 thanks to Leipzig's win over Club Brugge.

Killian Mbappe put PSG ahead in the 50th minute when he deviated from Kyle Walker on the way to the French forward and drilled into Lionel Messi's cross back post.

City equalized when a beautiful ball from Roddy set Walker on the trademark low cross and pushed Rahim Sterling to the back post.

Riyad Mahrez won the toss with Bernardo Silva in the far post and showed a clever touch to cushion the ball to Portuguese midfielder Jesus who chose his place.

With one round of play remaining, City are in contention for 12 points in the lead group, PSG and eight points and Leipzig and Bruges, both four points, third and one place in the Europa League.
