Trent Bolt has seen how Shaheen Afridi swings the ball to destroy India's top order in the T20 World Cup and plans to do the same in Sunday's crucial match against New Zealand's pace spearhead Virat Kohli's men.
Left-arm pacer Afridi bowled Rohit Sharma for a golden call in the swing, swing delivery and bowled another opener KL Rahul in his next over to take 10 wickets for Pakistan in the Group II blockbuster in Dubai.
New Zealand will also have to win against Kohli's "Men in Blue" to help Pakistan recover from their defeat and revive their campaign.
"The way Shaheen bowled the other night, for a left-handed player, I thought it was amazing," Bolt told reporters on Saturday.
"The Indian line-up has quality batsmen and the initial wicket is definitely the focus for us as a bowling group."
"Hopefully, from my point of view, it will turn around a bit and I'll be able to mirror what Shaheen did the other night."
Winning the semifinals of the 2019 ODI World Cup and the final of the inaugural World Test Championship in June this year, Ken Williamson’s team will take inspiration from their edge against India in the global tournament in recent years.
Bolt stressed that they could not afford to lower the guard against the 2007 champions, who lost to arch-rivals Pakistan and wanted to regain their own campaign.
"There is always a lot of excitement about playing with India," said the bowler.
"We've probably had some success in this ICC tournament in the last few years, but that doesn't mean we have to treat them lightly or something like that.
"It's a big game for both teams. I'm sure both are looking forward to a good performance," the 32-year-old added.
