West Indies captain Kieron Pollard has come up with a simple advice for his side after they were "destroyed" by England in the opening match of the World Twenty20 - forgetting the loss and regaining the title.
The repetition of the 2016 final proved to be a one-sided affair with the West Indies for an embarrassing 55 in 15 overs and England returning home in nine overs.
Pollard called the batting surrender "unacceptable" and hoped to do better on their upcoming Group I tour.
"It's frustrating to start a tournament that has been a defending champion," the 34-year-old told reporters.
"Having said that, it's something we have to accept. We accept it. We take full responsibility for what happened there and for us in this kind of game, you try to stop it as soon as possible and move on."
England spin duo Adil Rashid and Moin Ali shared six wickets between them and Chris Gayle's 13 was the only double-digit score in the West Indies' sad scorecard.
“For us, we just have to go back, look at our performance, look at the way we got out and see if we can find a way to get into it,” Pollard said. .
The pressure was on for the next Group 1 match against South Africa on Tuesday.
The all-rounder said, ‘I think it’s very important to us that you forget this kind of game.
"You try to dig into it too much. Then you can find some things you don't really want. For us, it's pretty simple: accept and move on."
The West Indies dropped Roston Chase, who was expected to play a middle-order anchor, while a move to promote Dwayne Bravo also failed.
Pollard explained, "Roston had a chance to be selected in the team, but we thought it would be a good way for us to get out of the best XI and win the first match."
“We lost a few wickets at first and hoped the boys would bat a few overs, just let it slip and see if we could set it on the back end but we kept losing wickets.
"Bravo went to break the left-handed trend, to take it a little further. It didn't work today and these things happen."
